Hyjal Summit is a new 20-player raid coming to World of Warcraft: Forever, confirmed by Blizzard's BlizzCon 2026 panel recap to unlock on December 9, 2026, more than a month after the November 4 launch. It ties directly into the Mount Hyjal leveling zone. As of beta build 1.60.1.69893, Blizzard has not published a boss list, loot table, or attunement chain for this raid, so most of this guide covers what is confirmed rather than a full walkthrough.

Overview, size and unlock date

Blizzard's panel recap confirms Hyjal Summit as a 20-player raid unlocking December 9, 2026. That is the same date announced for Barrow Deeps, the other new raid in this content wave, so both are expected to become available in the same maintenance window rather than staggered. No raid difficulty options (such as a separate heroic mode) have been announced for Hyjal Summit.

A 20-player size puts Hyjal Summit in the same bracket as existing Classic Era 20-player raids such as Zul'Gurub and Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj, both smaller than the 40-player raids like Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and Naxxramas. Blizzard has not said where Hyjal Summit is meant to sit in overall raid progression relative to that existing content — whether it is intended as comparable difficulty to those raids, a step above them, or something else — so treat any specific difficulty comparison as not yet announced.

Attunement and how to get there

Blizzard has not published an attunement quest chain for Hyjal Summit. Based on the raid's name and its narrative tie to the Mount Hyjal zone — where Warcraft Wiki describes a questline defending Nordrassil against Ragnaros before counterattacking — it is a reasonable assumption that the raid entrance sits at the end of that zone's storyline, but this has not been confirmed by Blizzard and should not be treated as fact until stated directly or verified in a later beta build.

Boss order and abilities

Not yet announced. Blizzard has not released a boss list for Hyjal Summit. As of beta build 1.60.1.69893, the dungeons table does contain one raid-type entry, internally named Nightmare Grove (Nightmare Grove), that shares its map ID with the Mount Hyjal zone's own map data. This could plausibly be an internal or placeholder name for Hyjal Summit, but Blizzard has not confirmed that connection, so treat it as an unverified data point rather than the raid's real name or structure.

If the zone's storyline is any guide, the raid's antagonist is likely connected to Ragnaros and the Twilight's Hammer forces described in Mount Hyjal's questing — Warcraft Wiki's account of the zone has that invasion as its central conflict. Whether Ragnaros himself appears as a boss, a different lieutenant leads the fight, or the raid tells an entirely separate story has not been confirmed by Blizzard, so this should be read as a lore-based guess rather than a boss list.

Loot tables

Not yet announced. No loot table has been published for Hyjal Summit. What beta build 1.60.1.69893 does contain is a small number of early, likely placeholder assets tagged to the raid by name: Hyjal Summit Trash Weapon (Hyjal Summit Trash Weapon), a generic weapon used by trash mobs rather than a boss drop, and two items tagged only with the more generic word "Summit" rather than "Hyjal Summit" specifically — Summit Drape (Summit Drape) and Summit Guardian Polearm (Summit Guardian Polearm). Because those last two are not explicitly tagged to Hyjal by name, they are weaker evidence and might belong to unrelated content; they are included here only as a transparency note, not as confirmed Hyjal Summit loot. Do not plan gear upgrades, bis lists, or drop rates around any of this until Blizzard publishes an actual loot table.

Consumables and preparation

Blizzard has not published raid-specific consumable requirements or recommended preparation for Hyjal Summit. Given that both new raids unlock five weeks after launch rather than on day one, players will have time between November 4 and December 9 to gear up through the new zones and dungeons and to stock up on whatever consumables the existing Classic Era profession system supports, but no Forever-specific consumable has been announced for this raid.

That five-week gap is worth planning around even without specific consumable requirements. Between launch and the December 9 raid unlock, you have time to level a new race/class combination such as Undead Paladin or Dwarf Shaman, gear up through the new dungeons Blizzard has confirmed (including City of Dalaran, Ruins of Lordaeron, and The Hall of Thanes), and farm crafting materials through whichever profession system carries over from Classic Era. None of that guarantees readiness for Hyjal Summit specifically, since its actual difficulty and gear requirements are not yet announced, but it is a reasonable use of the gap.

Raid composition

Blizzard has not published a recommended raid composition for Hyjal Summit's 20 player slots. What can be said generally is that the beta build's talent data still includes tank- and healer-relevant Classic-style talents that a 20-player roster would draw on, such as talent #105976 (Shield Specialization) for tanks and talent #105866 (Improved Renew) for healers — these are pre-existing Classic Era talents present in the build, not new Forever-specific raid tools, and are mentioned only to show the underlying talent system a raid composition would be built around. A role breakdown (how many tanks, healers, and damage dealers a 20-player Hyjal Summit roster is expected to run) has not been announced.

The new race/class combinations covered elsewhere on this site could shift what a Hyjal Summit roster looks like in practice — Undead Paladin gives Horde raid groups a tank/healer hybrid option they did not have before, and Dwarf Shaman gives Alliance groups a buff and totem support class they also did not have before. Whether Blizzard has balanced this specific raid's encounters around those new options being available has not been stated.
