The Druid talent tree in WoW Forever combines Balance, Feral, and Restoration into a single 51-node tree, and the new Skyborne race gets its own druid forms built specifically for it. This guide reads the beta tree as of build 1.60.1.69893 and covers reasonable builds for leveling, group content, PvP, rotation, and race choice. The database also still holds a smaller, 36-node legacy Druid tree from Classic Era import; this guide describes only the 51-node tree, the one flagged in the beta data as the active Forever tree.
What changed for the class in Forever
The Druid now trains from a single 51-node tree instead of three separate Balance, Feral, and Restoration trees, confirmed directly by the beta data. Blizzard's panel recap notes Skyborne access to Druid "including new Skyborne druid forms created specifically for the race," which makes Druid one of only five classes the Skyborne can play. As of beta build 1.60.1.69893, Forever also lets periodic effects crit and unifies hit rating and critical strike rating from gear, which matters directly for this class: talent #104924 (Genesis) increases periodic damage and healing together, and a Restoration Druid's kit leans almost entirely on periodic heals like Rejuvenation and Wild Growth. Blizzard has not published exact numbers for the change, so treat it as directional.
Talent tree overview
As of beta build 1.60.1.69893, the active tree has 51 nodes across seven rows. The left column is Balance, running through talent #104927 (Nature's Majesty, 2 ranks) and talent #104933 (Improved Starfire, 5 ranks) up to the capstone talent #104937 (Moonkin Form, 1 rank). The middle column is Feral, running through talent #104948 (Savage Fury, 2 ranks) and talent #104947 (Primal Fury, 2 ranks) up to the capstone talent #104956 (Berserk, 1 rank, requires Leader of the Pack). The right column is Restoration, running through talent #104916 (Gift of Nature, 5 ranks) and talent #104914 (Improved Rejuvenation, 3 ranks) up to the capstone talent #104910 (Wild Growth, 1 rank, requires Living Spirit).
| Column | Identity | Row-6 gate | Capstone (row 7) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Left | Balance | none listed in the beta data | Moonkin Form |
| Middle | Feral | Leader of the Pack | Berserk |
| Right | Restoration | Living Spirit | Wild Growth |
Leveling build
A reasonable leveling build as of beta build 1.60.1.69893 leans Feral, since shapeshifting into Cat or Bear Form gives a Druid melee durability and damage that a caster build has to earn through gear instead. Ferocity (Ferocity, 5 ranks) cuts the cost of your core shapeshifted abilities, Furor (Furor, 5 ranks) keeps your resource bar from draining every time you shift form, and Spirit Bond (Spirit Bond, 2 ranks) heals you passively while your pet-adjacent mechanics aren't even in play, since it triggers off having any active combat pet-style companion. Gift of Nature (Gift of Nature, 5 ranks) is worth an early point regardless of your main build, since it makes every self-heal you cast between pulls more efficient.
Dungeon and raid builds
A healing build for group content takes talent #104916 (Gift of Nature, 5 ranks) and talent #104914 (Improved Rejuvenation, 3 ranks) for stronger core heals, then talent #104912 (Swiftmend, 1 rank) for an instant heal that consumes an existing Rejuvenation or Regrowth, capped by talent #104910 (Wild Growth) for a smart-healing group cooldown.
A tanking or melee damage build for dungeons runs the Feral column: talent #104942 (Thick Hide, 3 ranks) for flat Armor in any shapeshifted form, talent #104949 (Mangle, 1 rank, requires Savage Fury) as a strong threat-and-damage opener, and talent #104955 (Leader of the Pack, 1 rank) for a party-wide critical strike buff while shapeshifted, finishing at talent #104956 (Berserk) for a burst cooldown. The beta data does not indicate whether Restoration or Feral is stronger in current raid content, so this is a role choice rather than a proven ranking.
PvP build
Feral Charge (Feral Charge, 1 rank) closes distance from Bear Form and interrupts a spellcast on landing, a strong opener against a caster. Nature's Grace (Nature's Grace, 1 rank) speeds up your next cast after a non-periodic critical, useful for chaining heals or Starfire casts under pressure. Nature's Swiftness (Nature's Swiftness, 1 rank) turns your next Nature spell instant, which can save an ally with a guaranteed-cast Healing Touch, and Living Spirit (Living Spirit, 3 ranks) raises Spirit, feeding both Mana regeneration and the healing scaling Druids rely on more than burst.
Rotation and priorities
Classic Druid rotations, carried over from Classic Era, differ heavily by shapeshift and role: Balance opens Moonfire and Insect Swarm before falling into a Wrath or Starfire cast cycle, Feral alternates a combo-point builder like Rake or Shred with a finisher like Rip or Ferocious Bite while managing Energy or Rage depending on Cat or Bear Form, and Restoration keeps Rejuvenation rolling on multiple targets while reacting to burst damage with direct heals.
What Forever changes: with periodic effects now able to crit, Rejuvenation, Regrowth's heal-over-time portion, and Moonfire all benefit from critical strike gear in a way Classic Era itemization did not reward, making Gift of Nature (Gift of Nature) and crit-focused Balance talents like Improved Starfire (Improved Starfire) worth prioritizing earlier than a Classic guide would suggest. Genesis (Genesis) sits at the top of this list, since it scales periodic damage and healing at the same time, covering both a Balance and a Restoration build from a single talent.
Best races for the class
Druid is not one of the six new race and class combinations Blizzard announced for Forever, but it is one of only five classes open to the new Skyborne, who get druid forms built specifically for the race according to Blizzard's panel recap. Night Elf and Tauren remain the class's original Classic Era options, one per faction.
| Race | Faction | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Skyborne | Both | New race in Forever; gets Skyborne-specific druid forms per Blizzard's recap |
| Night Elf | Alliance | Original Druid race, carried over from Classic Era; Shadowmeld pairs with Cat Form stealth openers |
| Tauren | Horde | Original Druid race, carried over from Classic Era; War Stomp adds a stun usable in and out of shapeshift |
Blizzard has not yet detailed what the new Skyborne druid forms look like beyond confirming they exist, so as of beta build 1.60.1.69893 this is a confirmed feature without confirmed specifics.
