Beta Comes to an End

Blizzard is wrapping up the WoW: Forever Beta, with word going out that realm restarts would be performed shortly. Ahead of the shutdown, Josh Greenfield hinted on social media that logging in "in a few hours" might be worthwhile. Separately, over a 24-hour window, several zones hosted farewell events featuring world bosses Azuregos and Kazzak, among others, as part of the official End of Beta celebration.

Podcast Covers Raids and Encounter Design

The WoW: Forever Podcast released its fifth episode, billed as a special End of Beta edition. In the same wave of podcast coverage, Lead Encounter Designer Michael Nuthals discussed the design philosophy behind Forever's raid bosses and what players should expect from encounters going forward. Josh Greenfield also confirmed in the podcast that classic raids such as Molten Core will include new mechanics for players to discover, rather than being carried over unchanged.

Gearing and Ruleset Notes

Players testing the beta have observed that mail armor with spell power is absent from early-level quest and dungeon rewards, at least at the levels reached so far. Separately, Blizzard confirmed that an RP-PvP ruleset will be available when WoW: Forever launches.

Celebrations Around the World

Beyond the in-game events, a celebration also took place in Shanghai, China, where a large gathering marked WoW: Forever and Blizzard more broadly, featuring a full-scale recreation of the city of Dalaran for attendees to explore.
