Your keybinds carry over automatically, so you do not need to redo those. Beyond that starting step, the add-ons worth watching are the same names that have anchored Classic-style WoW add-on lists for years: Questie for quest tracking, Details for damage and healing meters, and WeakAuras for customizable buff, debuff and cooldown tracking. All three are widely used, actively maintained add-ons on existing WoW Classic Era realms today. None of these have a confirmed Forever release yet as of beta build 1.60.1.69893 — treat their Forever compatibility as to be confirmed rather than guaranteed, since a Classic Era-compatible version does not automatically mean it works unmodified on Forever's specific client build.
Questing and leveling
Questie is the standard reference point here: it adds quest givers, turn-in points, and objective locations directly to the map and minimap, which matters enormously in a Classic-style client that does not have retail's built-in quest waypoint arrows. Leatrix Plus, a long-running quality-of-life add-on covering everything from auto-repair to UI cleanup, is another name worth watching for a Forever build, since Classic-style leveling benefits heavily from its convenience features. Dungeons and raids
Loot-reference add-ons like AtlasLoot, which show a dungeon's boss list and item drops without leaving the game, are especially useful for the nine new Forever dungeons, several of which — like Ruins of Lordaeron Ruins of Lordaeron and The Hall of Thanes Hall of Thanes — do not have public loot tables yet even from Blizzard or community sources. Others, like City of Dalaran City of Dalaran, already have a partial confirmed boss list, which is exactly the kind of data an AtlasLoot-style database add-on would need an update to display correctly once it ships for Forever. Auction house and professions
Auctionator and TSM (TradeSkillMaster) are the two long-standing names for auction house price-checking and crafting-material shopping lists, both potentially useful given how many brand-new recipes Forever adds across Alchemy, Enchanting, Blacksmithing, Tailoring and Engineering, on top of the six new Camping recipe items confirmed for this beta build. A pricing add-on is particularly useful early in a fresh economy like Forever's beta, where a newly learnable item such as the Sharpening Wheel Sharpening Wheel or a profession-gated craft for Riverglades Riverglades questing has no established market price yet. As with the other categories above, neither Auctionator's nor TSM's Forever compatibility is confirmed as of this beta build.
Installing and updating add-ons
Warcraft Tavern's reporting does not specify which add-on manager, if any, officially supports Forever, so the safest approach during the beta is to install add-ons manually into the correct Forever client folder rather than assume a manager built for retail or Classic Era will target the right game version automatically. Given that Forever loads your existing retail add-ons on login and that doing so causes errors, keep your retail and Forever add-on folders clearly separated if you play both, and re-check each add-on's changelog before every beta build update — a working add-on today can break again the next time Blizzard patches build 1.60.1.69893 forward.
